Jules* Elting is a trans non-binary actor, performer, dancer, and singer whose work spans international film, television, and theatre across Europe and South America. Their films have screened at major festivals including Berlinale, Venice, Locarno, IndieLisboa, and IFFR Rotterdam. They are known for roles in João Pedro Rodrigues' The Ornithologist (Silver Leopard, Locarno), Renata Pinheiro's King Car, and Siri Hustvedt - Dance Around the Self, which won the LOLA for Best Documentary at the 2026 German Film Awards.
Born in Hamburg, Germany, Jules* studied dance in New York City and acting in Leipzig before spending ten years in São Paulo, Brazil, as a company member of the renowned Teatro Oficina.
Alongside their international film work, they have appeared in German television productions including Tatort and SOKO Donau/Wien. In 2019, Jules* was selected as Berlinale Talents and later hosted the Teddy Awards at the Berlinale 2021. They appeared as a main character in Vampires in Space by Isadora Neves Marques, the official film of the Portuguese Pavilion at the 2022 Venice Biennale.
