Biography

Jordan Ray Allen is a multifaceted artist who writes, directs and edits fictional films across genres. He is best known for the award-winning film noir Red Handed, which earned him 'Best Short' during his early years on the festival circuit.

Veteran cinematographer and lens innovator Joe Dunton, who collaborated with Stanley Kubrick on multiple films, described the noir as "fantastic" and was stunned to learn it had not been shot on celluloid, but digitally before receiving a classic film look in post-production: one of Allen's stylistic trademarks.

Throughout the 2010s, Allen continued producing short films before shifting his focus to writing original feature films and television series. This transition led to the 2022 proof-of-concept production for his limited anthology series, The Montgomery Murders, which follows a Black horror radio actor in the 1940s who seeks vengeance against his racist employers.

Allen would end 2024 on a high note when his sci-fi music film Turn Up The Volume was selected as one of 10 winning entries from 13 countries at a music video film festival presented by the iconic brand Night Flight.

In 2025, Allen was a semi-finalist in the Emerging Screenwriters Horror Screenplay Competition for Knock 'em Dead, the pilot script for The Montgomery Murders.

Musically, he performs under the alias JRA and is also the composer, producer, and creative director behind the synth-based project Shikon.

Although not an actor, and known for avoiding cameras as much as humanly possible, strangely enough, Jordan Ray Allen is part of an ensemble cast in the cult classic horror film, 'The Devil's Stomping Ground'.

Jordan Ray Allen has met Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson twice. Once, as a teen in the 90s during the WWF Attitude Era, and in 2011, on a film set during Dwayne's acting era, and Jordan's screenwriter era.
