She was born in Imphal, Manipur, India to Jeevan Singh Thoidingjam (father, Manipuri) and Rupa Devi Singh (mother, Punjabi). Her mixed looks have always set her apart from the conventional South Asian diaspora. She was discovered at a college festival at her Alma mater and debuted with a national commercial spot for Soap brand Lifebuoy Gold. She is also the first female actor to ever play a superhero on Indian television. She is Known for playing a vastly different array of roles in the TV shows she has led. Her portrayal of the unwavering mother of a child with disabilities for the Ganapati special of TV series Mann mein hai vishwass was the highest rated episode aired of the religious anthology series for Sony Entertainment Television.
Neha has also been a columnist for two national dailies in India , as well as worked behind the camera for a number of years, first as Project supervisor for a film and then as Creative director for Neela Telefilms Pvt. Ltd. She is also a business owner and an artist and entrepreneur.
