Biography

Matt Nagin is an author, comedian, and actor, who has published five books, acted in numerous film and TV projects, and performed standup in seven countries. Notable television roles include a recent Co-Star role on the show Hunters on Amazon (Prod. Jordan Peele), where he acted in a scene with Al Pacino. Matt also played Sgt. Harris, a leading role in the hit Discovery show Street Justice: The Bronx, and Jeff, a criminal associate in Homicide City.

Matt's film credits include Demetri Martin's Dean, Tango Shalom, starring Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna, and Price For Freedom with Paul Sorvino. Matt's cinematic performances have been showcased at The Tribeca Film Festival, The Hoboken International Film Festival, The Nice International Film Festival, and have appeared on Amazon, Netflix, and other platforms. Most recently, Matt starred in a new TV pilot from Veritas Arts International and Writer/Director Daniel Jordano, Brooklyn Vans, which screened in NYC to rave reviews.

Matt's one man show, Woolly Mammoth Panic Attack, appeared at The Edinburgh Comedy Festival where critics deemed it "brilliantly irreverent" and "a stellar success." Matt's comedy has also been featured on The Dr. Steve Show (WPIX), Wendy Williams Show (FOX), as well as on reality shows and other programs on such networks as A&E, Lifetime, Travel Channel and MTV.

Matt's first film as a writer/director, Inside Job, premiered at The Mediterranean Film Festival Cannes where it won Best Short. It was later nominated for Best USA Feature at The International Film Festival Manhattan and won Best Supporting Actor at The Nice International Film Festival. Matt's second short, Sorry Mom, was an official selection of All The Laughs Comedy Awards, Wavestock Film Festival, And The International Film Festival Manhattan and has obtained superb reviews.

Matt's writing has been published in Across The Margin, The New York Post, and Writer's Digest, and anthologized in New York's Best Emerging Poets and Rabbit Hole: Weird Stories Volume 5. Tenth Street Press published Matt's humor book, Do Not Feed The Clown, and he's also published a story collection and three poetry books. One poem from his second book, "If We Are Doomed," won the 2018 Spirit First Editor's Choice Award.

Finally, Matt spent several years as a Talent and Show Coordinator for The Gotham Comedy Foundation, a charitable organization that brings comedians into hospitals and senior centers.
