His work includes documentaries, factual and travel shows, television commercials, feature films and other non-fiction projects. He is the founder of Mowgli Productions and the creator of the Hideaways documentary series. As an author, Sharma has written true-crime non-fiction books, including Operation Chachajaan and Crime Lords Trail: Bombay to Bangkok.
