Biography

Parish Malfitano is an Italian Australian writer, director, producer, and founder of Fantasma Picture House.

He graduated from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) with a Foundation Diploma and a Bachelor of Arts: Screen.

While at AFTRS, Parish worked as Assistant Editor on the acclaimed documentary 'Dead Hands Dig Deep,' which was featured at major festivals like Slamdance and Sydney Underground.

Parish's debut feature, Bloodshot Heart, praised by critic Adrian Martin as a "national rarity," screened at numerous international festivals. These included Revelation Perth International Film Festival, Fantaspoa Film Festival, Cinefantasy Brazil, Fantastic Film Festival Australia, Shanghai International Film Festival, Cinequest LA, and Dances With Films Festival LA at the TCL Chinese Theatre. It also had a cinema run in Sydney and Melbourne and is available on SBS On Demand.

In 2023, he served as a programmer for Fantastic Film Festival Australia.

Parish's third feature, Salt Along the Tongue, a Supernatural Drama and semifinalist in Francis Ford Coppola's Zoetrope screenplay competition, is currently on the festival circuit. He is also developing his next film, Sanctity of Flames.
