Justin Peters
Justin Peters biography.

He was 6 years old when he had his first paying gig as an actor in the entertainment business doing a commercial with the legendary Minnie Pearl. As a child he continued to act and model while growing up with a father who had much success as a songwriter/publisher in the music business. After graduating from high school from Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee, Justin knew at a young age that his career path too was writing and publishing. He put his formula to work while studying at Belmont University. While in college in 1984 he had his first #1 song, "Believers," as recorded by Michael James Murphy. Two years later he would have his second number one song when the legendary Chinese actor/singer Leslie Cheung released "Miracle," a song he co-wrote with Steve Davis that hit the top of the charts in Honk Kong. In this same year he wrote a song for the Blue Angels Navy Flying Team entitled "Angels" which received much recognition. While still working on his Bachelor's Degree in Music Business, he formed his own publishing company, Justin Peters Music. He would have his third #1 for 6 weeks as songwriter and publisher of the AC Song of the Year in Christian Country Music, "Saved By Love." The Amy Grant release off of her "Lead Me On" record received Platinum status and in 1988 and he was voted American Songwriter of the Year (Gospel Music Category). Since opening his own publishing company he has been on many Gold and Platinum records. He has written or published songs that have been recorded by B. J. Thomas, Charley Pride, Rhonda Vincent, Jimmy Fortune, Joe English, Bill Engvall, Dailey and Vincent, Rich Mullins, Lee Anna McGuire, Russ Taff, Rusty Goodman, Gary Chapman, 4 Him, The Imperials, Rick Cua, Larry Howard, Dallas Holm, Olanda Draper and Associates, Wayne Watson, The McKamey's, Al Denson, Morgan Cryar, Kelly Nelon Thompson, Billy Sprague, Cynthia Clawson, The Speer Family, Truth, Kashief Lindo, Connie Scott, First Call, Beau Williams, Billy and Sarah Gaines, Stephanie Rabus, Twila Paris, Mitchell Musso, Alan Jackson, Lee Ann Womack, Victoria Huggins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Steven Curtis Chapman, Dustin Belt, Hillbreed, George Canyon, Willie Nelson, Justin Bieber and the list goes on. The song catalogs he manages today include recordings from nine different Entertainers Of The Year. Justin is owner and President of Songs For The Planet, Inc., who represents Abet International Music Group, Absotunes, Ben Peters Music, Jembon Music, LITA Music, Macon Golden Music, McCorvey Music, Platinum Planet Music, Inc., Rae Bon Music, Tourmaline Music, Inc., Truthworks Music, World House Publishing and many other quality copyright companies. Justin continues to write and publish songs all over the world from all genres of music including gospel, country, pop, reggae, blues, rock, Latin, comedy and dance. He continues to license songs for artists projects, films, movies, television shows, books, hymnals, posters, sheet music, commercials and many other uses. In 2013 Justin started a new record company, Platinum Planet Records.

Here are some other cool facts:

He wrote with Steven Rupe "The Anthem of the Armed Forces" which is the first song to include all of the armed forces. It is a beautiful song written for full orchestra Marine Band and Navy Band.

In July of 2025 his song "Tell God" recorded by Jodie Leslie of Canada was nominated for best "country/southern gospel" record for the Canadian CCA Awards.

He wrote theme song for movie on Earl Hamners life called Earl's Song: Virginia Dreams which was recorded by Country Music Hall of Famer Jimmy Fortune.

The biggest song he ever had in China.... it was by Leslie Cheung who was like the Elvis of China .... he was a HUGE actor / singer. It was a duet with actress/singer Connie Mak Kit-man that went #1 in Hong Kong.
