Gayle Ye is an Emmy award-winning director of photography whose work has screened at Cannes Court Metrage and the Tribeca Film Festival. They have received praise from the New York Times and Roger Ebert for their stunning cinematography. They recently lensed season two of Jasmeet Raina's "Late Bloomer" and Sook-Yin Lee's highly anticipated feature film, "Paying For It", which landed in TIFF's Top 10 Films of 2024.
No stranger to historic wins, In 2021 Gayle became the first gender-fluid person of color and youngest person to win a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lighting Design. In 2025, they made history again as the first person to win two Canadian Screen Awards for cinematography in the same year.
