Biography

Mike Magilnick is a United States based Director of Photography who focuses on narrative production. He has a deep passion for lighting, and a unique eye for perspective and composition. He prides himself on his commitment to giving each project the look and style it requires. Mike's commitment and the bold choices he makes through the camera can be seen throughout his work. Additionally, his ability to conform to the needs of the project logistically and creatively has been integral to his success. He's a very positive and solution oriented collaborator with great intuitions and attention to detail.

Mike began his career in 2003 working in public access as a camera operator and shooting commercials for local businesses. He started working on larger commercial projects and narrative work in 2008. He developed his skill set as a Cinematographer through years working in the Grip and Electrical departments as a Gaffer and Key Grip. Mike's first feature film as a Director of Photography was filmed in 2014. Since then he has been the Cinematographer on over 20 feature films as well as numerous short form narrative projects. Mike's body of work also includes commercial and corporate productions as well as music videos and documentaries.

Mikes work has won best cinematography awards all around the US and internationally, won regional Emmy's, and been distributed theatrically, as well as streamed on all major platforms.
