Biography

Yara Sofia was born on May 8, 1984 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is an actor, known for RuPaul: Responsitrannity (2012), RuPaul's Drag Race (2009) and RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked! (2009).

The origins of Gabriel's drag persona name, Yara Sofia comes from a girl he used to dance with who had beautiful legs and the same name.

In April 2011, along with fellow drag queen Alexis Mateo, Yara boycotted the store Tampa beauty supplies after they were told to leave the store due to their sexual orientation.

Made a dress for fellow drag queen and RuPaul's Drag Race contestant, Von Nguyen for the Season 9 finale.

Works as a professional make-up artist when out of drag.
