Alys Daroy

Alys Daroy is a former actress specializing in classical stage and Shakespeare (nationalities: Australian; Latvian). Daroy has worked with Shakespeare's Globe, Theatre Royal Stratford East UK, Bard City, Cantabridgia, Cambridge Shakespeare Festival, Emerge London Lates, the National Theatre and others. She has appeared in over 40 productions, in addition to commercial, voice over and screen work and is the recipient of various awards, including the Royal National Theatre and the Sunday Times Ian Charleson Award Commendation for Outstanding Performance in a Classical Production (Yelena, Chekhov's The Wood Demon, London). Also former model, Daroy now works as a writer, director, producer and academic. Titles include Shakespeare, Ecology and Adaptation (Arden Shakespeare). She trained at AADA and has a PhD in Shakespeare (Monash-Warwick Universities).
