Mini bio

  • Ariel González Amer is an Argentine Cinematographer and Filmmaker based in Colombia. With extensive experience in documentary projects, fiction series, and feature films, he has developed a distinctive and authentic visual style that captures deeply human stories.

His visual sensitivity and narrative commitment earned him a nomination for Best Cinematography in Non-Fiction at the 2025 India Catalina Awards, for the documentary miniseries De Que Las Hay, Las Hay. Among his most notable works as Director of Photography are the award-winning documentaries Hijos de la Trata (TAL Award for Best Journalistic Program, 2020) and Santa Escritura (TAL Award for Best Interview Program, 2023). In 2024, he made his directorial debut in fiction with the miniseries Hilos Moira.

Trained initially in Advertising at Universidad de Ciencias Empresariales y Sociales (UCES), he later deepened his artistic education through specialized studies in film, photography, and art direction at institutions such as Escuela de Cine Eliseo Subiela, Escuela Argentina de Fotografía, and Escuela Relacional. After a successful early career as a creative advertising professional-internationally recognized with awards including a Cannes Lions-he ultimately embraced his true passion: filmmaking.
