- James Parker is an Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and cinematographer whose work explores human connection and the natural world. He is the founder of Synchronous Pictures, an award-winning production company based in Southern California. In 2026, he won an Emmy® Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Pacific Southwest Chapter, for directing. Earlier, in 2011, his short documentary Positive to Positive won a Presidential Medal for Best Social Awareness Film (Premio del Presidente della Repubblica) at the I've Seen Films International Film Festival in Milan, Italy, presented by actor and festival founder Rutger Hauer. His work also includes the PBS documentary Other Side of the Hill and the feature In Our Nature (2025).
