Sean McIlraith is a New York-based Director and Editor. In 2024 and 2025 he won back-to-back Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on JOHN MULANEY PRESENTS: EVERYBODY'S IN L.A. and SNL50: THE ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL. His other nominations include a Primetime Emmy, 2x ACE Eddie Awards, and 2x PGA Awards for his producing and editing work on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. He has been directing and editing content with his brother and filmmaking partner, Ryan, since high school.
For over ten years he worked at SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, starting as an intern before rising the ranks to become the Senior Film Editor where he collectively cut over a hundred pre-taped shorts. His other credits include PLEASE DON'T DESTROY: THE TREASURE OF FOGGY MOUNTAIN (Universal/Apatow Feature), THE ERIC ANDRE SHOW (Adult Swim), MATT RIFE: LUCID (Netflix), THAT'S MY TIME WITH DAVID LETTERMAN (Netflix), and a multitude of commercials and other Film and Television projects.
He graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. His latest directing project with his brother "Here Comes Santa Claus", a dark comedic short film, just completed post production in 2025.
