- Charles Fasquelle was born on July 9, 1897 in Paris, France. Charles was a director and writer, known for Mahlia la métisse (1943), Cap sur Le Cap (1960) and À l'ombre du père de Foucault (1947). Charles died on September 28, 1965 in France.
- Publisher, he was more interested in cinema than in books. He is the son of Eugène (1863-1952) the founder of Éditions Fasquelle and the father of Jean-Claude (1930 - 2021) who later became the director of Éditions Grasset after the death of Bernard Privat.
