Biography

After studying editing, Guillaume Rieu turned to animation, retro special effects and sculpture. His first three short films, L'attaque du monstre géant suceur de cerveaux de l'espace (2010), Tarim le Brave contre les mille et un effets (2015), and Mars IV (2016) were broadcast on television and won awards at numerous festivals. His films are hybrid mixes of different techniques - matte painting, puppetry, stop motion, rotoscopy - all based on live-action acting. His latest film, Don Quichotte contre les forces du mal (2025), began in 2025 to be shown at festivals and on television (Arte).
