Biography

Best known as a member of the J-pop boy band Kis-My-Ft2, Hiromitsu Kitayama is a Japanese vocalist, actor, and songwriter. He attended Horikoshi High School in Tokyo and was signed by Johnny & Associates, a talent agency specializing in Japanese male idols, in 2002. Under Johnny & Associates' management, he joined the boy band Kis-My-Ft2 and made his public debut with the group's debut single, "Everybody Go!," in 2011. A Number 1 hit on the both the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and the Oricon Singles Chart, "Everybody Go!" launched Kis-My-Ft2's remarkable string of chart-topping singles. The group had earned more than 20 consecutive Number 1 singles by the time Kitayama left the group in 2023. As one of Kis-My-Ft2's more popular members, he had already performed solos on songs like "Sanagi," "Rock U," and "Give Me...," which helped lay the brickwork for the solo career that followed. He'd also starred in television shows (including 2012's J's Journey-Solo Back Pack Trip Across India, 2013's 10000 Yen Per Month Challenge, and 2014's Kazoku Gari) and movies (2019's Tiger: My Life as a Cat). Those accolades helped him partner with a new talent agency, Tobe, in 2023. He released his debut single as a solo act, "Ranshin," that same year, debuting at number 25 on two Japanese charts: Top 100 YouTube Clips and Top 100 Line Music.
