Biography

  • Simon J. Humphris was born in Hanover, Germany. Fanatical about film at an early age, he grew a great passion and drive in acting and performing. In 1990, influenced by his now late Grandparents and theatrical stage actors Victoria & Norman Hamling, he attended the Nuffield Youth Theatre Group, Southampton, Hampshire. He appeared in several productions for the Christmas Pantomimes and summer theater projects for the next 5 years.

In February 2007, Simon joined PAC, an amateur youth musical theater company in Hedge End, Southampton, which reignited his love & passion for acting when he performed on stage. He thrived from the enjoyment of shows and the entertainment, comedy, drama and music developed his ability, and allowed him to believe that a serious commitment into the craft was not so far out of reach.

In 2009, Simon believed he was ready to take on his first challenge in London. He auditioned for a serious drama by Milan Sebo, an Independent feature film called Morning Tea for the role of Andrew. The film explored the subject of euthanasia and life threatening illnesses. He was cast in the role after one script reading. In 2010, he also had successful auditions in 2 other credited roles, which include To Unwill a Heart, a 10th century period drama about one of the founders of Hampshire, and No You Did, an Independent short about love, betrayal when a women's life is spun out of control when she finds out about her boyfriends infidelity.
