Alexx Ekubo was an award-winning Nigerian actor, Model, motivational speaker, and producer. He was sometimes referred to as "Johnny" from the popular Yemi Alade song "Johnny", which has over 90 million views on YouTube..Ekubo won numerous awards & competitions; like the MR NIGERIA contest in 2010 where he emerged the 1st Runner Up, which gave him the platform to launch his mainstream movie career in Nollywood.
Ekubo was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, to Jane Ekubo, a fashion designer/businesswoman and Mazi Alex Ekubo, a petroleum marketer. The second of four siblings, he had two sisters and a brother. He grew up in several Nigerian cities, owing to his father's job description. He spoke the Hausa & Igbo languages fluently. Ekubo was educated at the K. Kotun nursery & primary school (Lagos) and then at the Federal Government College Daura (Katsina) before proceeding to the University of Calabar where he graduated with an LLB degree in Law in 2008.
