Biography

Jonathan R. Whittaker is a director and producer with over 25 years of experience across film, television, and branded content. He has directed Sony’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2011: The 3D Experience and created campaigns for brands including Nissan, Hyundai, Gillette, and Modelo.

In addition to his production work, Whittaker has led filmmaking programs and masterclasses in over 20 countries across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. He previously served as Chair of Film Arts at the New York Film Academy, where he developed curriculum and trained emerging filmmakers from around the world.

His work bridges storytelling, performance, and visual design, with a focus on directing actors and building narrative through image. He continues to work across narrative, commercial, and international training initiatives.
