Biography

Annie St John was born on September 8, 1954 in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, UK. She was married to Michael St John. She died on December 10, 1990 in Bristol, England, UK.

Began her TV career as a hostess on the first two series of game show 3-2-1 (1978), before establishing herself as one of the most popular continuity presenters on local ITV networks HTV West (1981-1983, 1987-1990) and Tyne Tees (1983-1987) throughout the 1980s.

She died in hospital almost 6 weeks after taking a lethal combination of champagne and drugs at her Bristol flat. Her funeral was held at St. Mary Redcliffe Church in Bristol, before being cremated in the city. Her grave is located at Carleton Cemetery in her hometown of Blackpool. An inquest into her death recorded a verdict of suicide.

Trained as an actress at the Rose Bruford College, later working in repertory theatre.
