Biography

  • Michaela Quinn is an American actress, singer, comedian and writer. Michaela was born on a brisk autumn day in Philadelphia, PA, September 18th to be exact, and is the youngest of three children. Her father owns his own Teambuilding and Leadership development company, and her Mother was an English teacher for much of her career after retiring from the US Airforce where she was stationed overseas as a Russian Linguist. While eloping in Ireland, her parents heard the name "Michaela" on the beach, and decided to name their daughter that. Michaela is of Half-Irish and Half-Italian descent. Michaela always knew she wanted to be an actress and comedian, and as a child frequently wrote and directed many plays with her girlfriends. Her interest in the arts further peaked when she got cast in her high school play 'Crazy for You' as Lottie Childs, the Jewish mother of the play's main character, Bobby Childs. Michaela loves to do many characters, voices, and impressions and her depiction of the typical 'Jewish Mother' in Gershwin's musical 'Crazy For You', had the crowd in stitches. Much to the dismay of her soccer coach and academic advisors at a boarding school Michaela attended, Michaela decided to expedite her studies online, and left to move to New York at age 17 to pursue a career in acting. She entered into New York Film Academy's 'Acting for Film' school and studied intensively for 8 months with many of NYFA's accomplished teachers. Though Michaela wanted to begin auditioning right away, her parents urged her to get a degree. Since Michaela wanted to stay in New York and continue her acting studies, she auditioned for Fordham University Lincoln Center's Acting program and was accepted in the Fall of 2006, as one of twenty lucky students in a pool of over 1,000 applicants. Michaela's work can now be seen on several TV shows, and she can be seen nightly performing live comedy.
