Biography

Wez started his career in the film industry soon after high school where he began his career as a production assistant on TV commercials in Cape Town, South Africa. Influenced by his Uncle Manoel Ferreira, Wez then became a trainee loader and worked his way up to loader working on 16mm & 35mm commercials.

Wez took a few years away from set to study electrical engineering and then worked at several digital camera rental houses including ARRI Media in Cape Town, Visual Impact in Bristol & Decode in London, this helped to give him a well rounded understanding of the digital cameras and increase his skills in technical camera support.

In 2009 Wez became one of the original DITs in London who helped start and implement the digital revolution while working for 4K London. Working as 3D DIT on a number of multi-cam shoots and lager workflows was where Wez truly started to shine.

In 2012 Wez founded Run Bnc in Cape Town, South Africa and has grown the business into a global DIT and Video Playback company; opening the London office in 2019, and the Malta Office in 2021.

As Technical Director, Wez builds the LiveGrade rigs, Qtake rigs and the mobile Labs, he also trains the crew and does tech support with them. There are very few people in the world as technically skilled onset.

Being lucky enough to carry 3 passports, Wez spends most of his time traveling around the world as a DIT or Qtake Operator.
