Jaleesa Capri is a Brooklyn-born actress and a summa cum laude graduate of Howard University, where she earned her B.F.A. in Theatre Arts (Acting). Known for her grounded emotional truth and commanding yet deeply human screen presence, her television credits include Blue Bloods (CBS), When They See Us (Netflix), Crashing (HBO), Inside the Black Box with Joe Morton and Tracey Moore, and 50 Central (BET).
Classically trained, she studied at the prestigious British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England, and trained with the legendary Al Freeman Jr., whose influence continues to shape her approach to storytelling.
Her stage work includes Beneatha Younger in A Raisin in the Sun and the Audelco-nominated production Playing With Fire with the Negro Ensemble Company. She is also permanently featured as a holographic storyteller in The Legacy Museum, where she brings to life a powerful historical slave narrative as part of the museum’s permanent exhibition.
A proud member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity Association, Jaleesa is drawn to bold, character-driven stories and is often cast as grounded, emotionally layered women navigating complex moral worlds.
