Biography

Sami Mustonen (b.1988) is a Northern Finnish filmmaker. His short film Marras (2020) has been screened at over 40 international festivals (R&A and BIFFF) and was featured in the Finnish Film Foundation's 2020 short film catalog. His music video Slow Fall - Witchcraft & Melancholy (2023) won the Audience Award at the Oulu Music Video Festival in 2023. His latest short fiction Pikatsu & Bätmän, was awarded Best Short Film concept in the two-year Filmiapaja program, organized by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland and the Oulu Cultural Foundation in 2024. He actively works as a director on music videos, art films, and commercial productions.
