Sujith Vaassudev is an Indian cinematographer, actor, producer and film director. He mostly works in the Malayalam film industry. He was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and completed his B.Com from the University of Kerala.
The versatile artist started his career as a camera assistant at Sangeetha Vision studio in Trivandrum. This is where he beefed up his art of cinematography and went on to deliver his first independent work for television in 1998.
Sujith made his debut as a cinematographer with Chekavar, a Malayalam film in 2010. This was followed by the City of God in 2011 and Mullamottum Munthiricharum in 2012. In the same year, he was part of Molly Aunty Rocks as the director of photography.
Owing to his prolific experience and know-how in the field of cinematography, Sujith became one of the most sought-after names for top projects in a short span of time.
In 2013, he did a series of projects, one after another as his portfolio and credentials kept surging. These include Ayaal, Memories, Punyalan Agarbattis and Drishyam. In 2014, he was the cinematographer for superhit film 7th Day, followed by other hit projects like Papanasam, Amar Akbar Anthony and Anarkali in 2015.
In 2016, he was the part of Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan and James & Alice film, which he also directed. In the following year, he again did several projects including Ezra and 1971: Beyond Borders followed by Autorsha in 2018, which was also directed and produced by him.
Sujith continued to embark on a dream run of working on some of the popular movies, such as Lucifer in 2019, Anveshanam and Miss India in 2020, Dybukk in 2021 and Khiladi in 2022. In the same year, he was the cinematographer for The Warrior, followed by Bro in 2023 and Manorathangal in 2024.
Besides his expertise behind the camera and as a producer, writer and director, Sujith has worked as an actor in Amar Akbar Anthony and Anveshanam. He believes in enhancing the efficiency of everything he gets to work on. His work has earned his great recognition and acceptance in the competitive entertainment industry.
