Dafni Bokota
Dafni Bokota is a Greek television presenter, singer and writer. She first appeared as a performer in the 1983 Greek Eurovision preselection and went on to release two music albums. She joined ERT in 1987 as an announcer and quickly became known as the voice of the Eurovision Song Contest in Greece, presenting the event for eighteen years. She also hosted the pan-European co-production Jeux sans frontières (1965) and created television content including scripts such as O vasilis, o Iason kai o Doky (1992). Beyond television, she was active in cultural programming with the series Ektos... (1995) and served as director of advertising and public relations at ERT (1996-97). In the 2000s she appeared as a judge on talent shows like EuroStar (2003) and Fame Story (2002). Parallel to her media career, Bokota was elected municipal councilor in Athens and later in Piraeus, where she also presided over the Municipal Enterprise for Cultural Development. In 2006 she published the book 18 Years Eurovision, recounting her experiences with the contest, and she has also translated literary works, including Christy Brown's My Left Foot.
