Merlin Ortner is a Berlin-based Production Designer and Art Director known for bold visual storytelling and a refined aesthetic shaped by his interdisciplinary background in art, design, and visual communication. A graduate of the renowned Weissensee School of Art (2013), he brings a distinctive fusion of fine arts, photography, and compelling production design to film.

Since 2006, Ortner has collaborated on a wide range of international productions - from feature films to high-end commercials - creating meticulously crafted environments that elevate cinematic narrative and character.

Driven by a design philosophy where artistic disciplines are interdependent, he approaches every project as a complete visual ecosystem, aligning conceptual detail with powerful emotional impact.

Ortner continues to develop ambitious film projects across Europe, pushing boundaries in immersive world-building and contemporary production design.
