Iris Ocampo

She began her career in TV commercials at Videobase. Lived and worked in London for five years before returning to commercials in Colombia. In 2008, she started as an assistant art director and set decorator on the TV series Tiempo Final, Sin Retorno, and the telemovie La Beca, co-productions between FOX and Fox Telecolombia. She established herself as Prop Master on Mental, The Fall of Sam Axe, Mentes en Shock, and El Capo. While studying The Language of Filmmaking in Los Angeles, she worked as Production Assistant on the music video Citizen of The World (dir. Harry Winner) and as art director on the shorts Celebration and A Clue to Love. Back home, she continued as art director on The Secret Life of Isabel Goncourt, commercials, and music videos like Soy igual que tú. She consulted on art direction for Lina Rodríguez's Señoritas and was Production Designer for the TV series Los hombres también lloran, la Tusa. She worked as Art and Costume Director on Lina Rodríguez's feature This Time Tomorrow (Canada-Colombia), screened at Locarno, Mar del Plata, and São Paulo Film Festivals, and as Art Director on Juan Likes Rice and Chicken (USA, Colombia) and Raúl Bribiesca's thriller La Escritora (The Writer). She was Production Designer for Matar a Jesús (Killing Jesus), winner of the Youth Award at the 65th San Sebastián Film Festival, and developed her documentaries Os Nossos Primeiros Passos no Cinema Português and Um Canto Português. She expanded into translation (Spanish, English, Portuguese) for films, web series, and comics, highlighting the documentary that talks about inclusion and the African race, "Pensar Sintiendo" ("Thinking while Feeling") by Marcela Angulo. Is a teacher at The Core and TAI for the Art Direction Máster. She is the art director for the feature Votemos (Spain, Santiago Requejo) and the shorts Cuando llega el frío (Spain, María Salgado) and Mañana (Spain, Paula Foncea) that is in pre-. Collaborated as set designer and decorator for the biopic of the Spanish band Mägo de Oz. And splits her time between Coimbra and Madrid with her partner, Jorge Conde Conde.
