Biography

Julien Paolini

Overview

  • Born
    June 20, 1986 · Florence, Italy

Mini bio

  • Born to a French mother and an Italian father, Julien Paolini left his native Tuscany at eight, led by a nostalgic and determined mother. It was in Paris that he grew. This dual identity will accompany him along the way. A voracious reader and watcher, he spends his formative years in cinemas and local libraries. Later on, he naturally delves into writing and directing.

Finalist of french Sopadin's in 2012 for the feature film script « Conduite Nocturne» Julien Paolini wrote and directed seven short films all noticed in TV and festivals. Filmed between France, Africa and the US, they brought him to direct actors such as Ahna O'Reilly (The Help), François-Xavier Demaison (Coluche), Bernie Bonvoisin (Les demons De Jesus) Shiloh Fernandez (White Bird), Christophe Salengro (Louise-Michel) or to adapt Boris Vian for France Télévisions. Among a new breed of french writers and directors, Julien Paolini's filmography has an international focus.
