Biography

Cozi Zuehlsdorff's career began when she was cast as Hazel in the feature film Dolphin Tale (2011) alongside Harry Connick Jr. and Morgan Freeman. She went on to star in the sequel, Dolphin Tale 2 (2014). In 2017 she starred with Willie Nelson in Pure Country Pure Heart (2017), in which she played a young country music singer. In 2018 she starred opposite Broadway star Heidi Blickenstaff as Ellie Blake in the Disney Channel Original Movie Freaky Friday (2018). Along the way, Cozi has also appeared in David E. Kelley's Monday Mornings (2013), and Disney Channel's series Liv and Maddie (2013), K.C. Undercover (2015), and Mighty Med (2013).

As a musician, Zuehlsdorff has experienced success in the world of electronic dance music, both as a writer and featured performer on several singles, and streams-to-date for her features are over 100 million. Trained as a classical pianist, she uses her talents as a songwriter for her own solo career as well as for other artists and films including the original song "Brave Souls," which plays during the end credits of "Dolphin Tale 2" and "What It's Like to be Me," the opening theme song of the Disney Channel Original Movie Freaky Friday.

Zuehlsdorff also has a passion for musical theater and has performed as Aurora in the Lythgoe Panto production of "Sleeping Beauty" and Brigitta in the regional 3D Theatricals version of "The Sound of Music." Cozi Zuehlsdorff is an LA/Nashville based actress, singer/songwriter, screenwriter and producer.

In film, she is best known for her role as Hazel in the feature films, Dolphin Tale, and Dolphin Tale 2, acting opposite Morgan Freeman, Harry Connick Jr, Ashley Judd and Kris Kristofferson. On TV, in addition to guest star appearances across networks, Zuehlsdorff was a staple on Disney Channel shows such as Liv & Maddie, Mighty Med and KC Undercover.

In 2018, Cozi's strength as an actress and musician won her the starring role opposite Broadway star Heidi Blickenstaff as Ellie Blake in the Disney Channel Original Movie Freaky Friday, a musical, adapted from the stage version. Having starred in two seasons of the #1 Pure Flix drama, Going Home, opposite Cynthia Geary, of the 90's hit show Northern Exposure, Zuehlsdorff is set to start filming " A Week Away" the series, based on the Netflix movie of the same name this fall.

As a musician, Zuehlsdorff is a classically trained pianist and songwriter with success in music for Film/TV, EDM and Pop. Her artist streams have recently topped 3.6 Billion globally. She wrote the end credits song,"Brave Souls," for feature film Dolphin Tale 2, and the opening theme for Disney Channel's Original Movie, Freaky Friday, "What it's Like to be Me." Zuehlsdorff also wrote "The Old Me & You," a duet which she sang with featured artist Andrew Barth Feldman (Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway). In late 2023, Zuehlsdorff guest starred on the 4th season of the five-time Emmy nominated High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, in addition to writing songs for four out of the eight episodes with writing partner, Matthew Tishler.

As a solo artist, Cozi has been releasing her own music. Her recent single "Macbeth" caught the ear of producer Matt Beckley (27 platinum records including Camilla Cabello's "Havana"), who subsequently came on to co-produce her track, "All About Me." This year, Zuehlsdorff continues her songwriting relationship with Disney +. In addition, she'll be releasing her debut album "Angel Food" in the Summer of 2024.
