Juan Devis is a media executive, creative strategist, and producer. He was recently named President of Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Film Independent Spirit Awards. Prior to joining Film Independent, Devis spent over a decade as the Chief Content Officer at PBS in Los Angeles. He developed and produced acclaimed series such as Artbound, The Migrant Kitchen, and Broken Bread with Roy Choi garnering over 30 Emmy Awards, as well as James Beard Awards and Edward R. Murrow Awards. Devis co-founded Ninety-Three Media, a cross-cultural production and media strategy company with Jeff Berg, focused on independent film, documentary, and emerging media formats.
