Bob Tourangeau was born as Robert Francis Tourangeau, Jr. to Alice Mary (Rochefort) and Robert Francis Tourangeau. He was raised in Naugatuck, Connecticut with his sisters Jean and Judy. Both parents were mill workers for Uniroyal Footwear. Bob's father played guitar and performed magic for parties as "Bob Francis". Bob's mother was known to play spoons and clogged as a young woman. Bob attended Cross Street Elementary School and Hillside Junior High School. He graduated from Naugatuck High School with the class of 1972. Bob went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he met his future wife of 39 years, Joanne Marie (Kosotsky). Shy, and suffering from stage fright, Bob never appeared on stage until 1980, when he was coerced into two small speaking roles in a community theater production of "Wind in the Willows" while living in East Lempster, New Hampshire. Finding that he loved performing, Bob appeared in two more small productions until 1982 when he started to work nights for the USPS at a distribution facility in White River Junction, Vermont. Bob returned to the stage in 1989, performing in "The Pajama Game", which was produced by Off Broad Street Players of Claremont, New Hampshire. Since then, Bob has appeared in regularly larger parts in over 50 productions with community theaters in Claremont and Lebanon, New Hampshire and Springfield and Windsor, Vermont. A baritone and low tenor, Bob has also been invited to sing in concert performances. After retiring from the USPS in 2012, and with the death of his wife in 2016, Bob decided to combine his passion for acting and films. Having appeared as a background actor in three Vermont films while still working with the USPS, Bob began studying method acting with filmmaker and "Days of Our Lives" veteran actor Steve Blackwood, and voiceover with filmmaker and musician, Dennis Collins Johnson. As of 2023, Bob has acted in a number of short and feature length films, TV shows, and commercials, and has produced others' projects.

As a featured extra (Todd&#39;s Dad), Bob filmed a scene with <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0016243/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Carlo Alban</a> outside of the fictional &quot;Rutland, New Hampshire&quot; police station for the movie <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/title/tt0432318/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Live Free or Die (2006)</a>. The appearance was uncredited and the scene was deleted from the final film.

Performed with actress <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm1668872/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Andria Wilson</a> on stage in Neil Simon&#39;s &quot;Rumors&quot; in Vermont.

Has performed on stage for over thirty years in over 50 productions of musicals, comedies, audience interactive dinner theater and dramas with numerous community theater groups in Vermont and New Hampshire.

Bob was photographed in a 1990s picnic scene for an episode of <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/title/tt6548228/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Castle Rock (2018)</a> with <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0004922/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Schuyler Fisk</a> and <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm1079976/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Adam Rothenberg</a>.; however, when the photograph appeared in the Season 1 episode titled &quot;Severance&quot;, Bob was not visible.

In 2019, Bob portrayed Richard Burbage in the New Hampshire premiere of the stage play, &quot;Shakespeare in Love&quot; with Amplified Arts-The Company in Claremont, NH.

From age 7 to age 9, Bob was a member of the Naugatuck (CT) Boxing Team winning three first place trophies and an outstanding boxer trophy for the three years.

Won &quot;Best Feature Screenplay&quot; at the Palm Springs International Screenplay Awards Diversity Contest for Spring, 2024, with his drama entitled &quot;Sudden Miracle&quot;.

Won &quot;Best Feature Screenplay&quot; for &quot;Sudden Miracle&quot; in the Hollywood International Indie Film and Screenplay Awards in October, 2025.

Won &quot;Best Faith-based Screenplay&quot; for his feature screenplay, &quot;Sudden Miracle&quot; at the inaugural Mill City Film Festival, Manchester, NH in May, 2026.

In February, 1993, Bob visited Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida and participated in their <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/title/tt1415292/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Star Trek Adventure (1991)</a> filming attraction. He took on the role of the trainee &quot;Captain&quot;. The resulting 15 minute VHS film was then purchased as a souvenir.
