Hotaru Akane(1983-2016)

Born in Osaka on the 25th of October 1983, Hotaru Akane began performing in Japanese Adult Video, working from 2004 to 2008. A singer, HIV activist and prominent blogger, she also occasionally appeared in mainstream film and television. Aged only 32, she died unexpectedly on 15th August 2016, possibly from health complications: no probable cause was able to be medically established.
