Alexander Povetkin

Alexander Povetkin is a Russian professional boxer who held the WBA (Regular) heavyweight title from 2011 to 2013. He has challenged twice for the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles against Wladimir Klitschko in 2013 and Anthony Joshua in 2018. As an amateur he won a gold medal in the super-heavyweight division at the 2004 Olympics, gold at the 2003 World Championships, and consecutive gold at the 2002 and 2004 European Championships. Alexander Povetkin was ranked as the world's sixth best active heavyweight by BoxRec, and seventh by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board and The Ring magazine.
