Ernest Hariyanto is an international documentary filmmaker, writer, and editor. He is known for the award-winning documentary feature 'Jalanan' (2013), the internationally acclaimed film 'Laya Project' (2007), and most recently the Australian avant-garde documentary feature, 'You Should Have Been Here Yesterday' (2023).
He co-produced, wrote, and edited 'Jalanan' (2013), which won the Best Documentary award at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival 2013. He co-wrote and edited 'You Should Have Been Here Yesterday' (2023, Best Documentary Finalist at Sydney Film Festival) and edited 'Plastic Island' (2021, Best Documentary Finalist at Warsaw International Film Festival).
