Biography

Hakan Peker is a Turkish pop music singer, dancer, songwriter, and producer born on February 5, 1963, in Istanbul.

Since his childhood, he has been a dance devotee and has spent most of his youth in music clubs. As anticipated, he started his professional career as a dancer for the artists Seyyal Taner and Deniz Erkanat.

In 1981, he founded his dance group "Hakan Peker Dance Group" and appeared in the Turkish National Dance Competition. The show promoted the group to be part of the TRT's entertainment programs and various domestic and foreign concerts and to become undoubtedly recognized.

In April 1989, his number-one album "Bir Legend" was released. However, his following album "Cadan Cama" which he released in March 1990, secured the artist the fame he wanted as an accomplished singer.

In 1990 Hakan Peker founded the record label "Peker Music" and right after, he released the well-known albums "Hey Corç" and "Amma Velakin". The substantial success of the two albums drew other artists to his production company helping Burak Kut, Zafer Peker, Özlem Tekin, Ali Güven, and Erhan Güleryüz to release their debut albums.

Naturally going with his popularity Hakan Peker served as the chairman of POPSAV for years and has released a total of 17 albums. Thanks to that, he is one of the most recognizable artists in the Turkish Pop Music scene and one of the most awarded singers by the Kral TV Music Awards.

He composes all of his songs himself.
