Nikolay Velikanov is an award-winning producer whose passion for cinema began in early childhood. He has always dreamed of making films and sharing his vision with the world. His film "Through the Indian Eyes" (2011) received the Best Short Documentary Film award at the Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood, as well as the Award of Excellence at the Los Angeles Movie Awards. "No Turning Back: The Russian Heat of West Sacramento" (2019) was a semi-finalist at the INTREDOC Documentary Film Festival in Moscow, Russia. "Into the Light: The Orthodox Faith" (2023) was an official selection at the Christian Family Film Festival. His project "Synthetic Identity" (2013) was officially selected and screened at the Independent Filmmaker Showcase and was also an official selection at the Blow-Up Chicago International Arthouse Film Festival. Additionally, "Mission Control" (2013) achieved international distribution on IndieFlix and is also available on Amazon. Nikolay also worked on the film "Campo Santo" (2011), directed by Luis Eduardo Valencia, which received the Diamond Award from the International Independent Film Awards. He previously collaborated with Valencia on "Temptation" (2010) and "Divine Intervention" (2010), both of which received multiple honors on the independent film festival circuit. He graduated from Russian New University with a degree in Socio-cultural Services and Tourism, marking his first step toward realizing his cinematic dreams. During his studies, he traveled the world to explore different cultures and began filming documentaries. His debut feature-length documentary, "This Is America" (2008), explored the intricacies of American culture. His passion for cinema led him to the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, where he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting and Filmmaking. This educational experience became a pivotal moment in his career, enriching both his technical knowledge and storytelling abilities.
