Biography

JD Herrera is an attorney licensed to practice since 1978.He has served as an adult felony prosecutor of major felony crimes in both the first (Santa Fe) and Second (Albuquerque) Judicial District Attorney's Offices.

JD has tried hundreds of felony jury trials for the prosecution and the defense--virtually every type of criminal case from homicides, white collar, RICO, arson and large-scale drug cases. He later majored in Film & Television and Broadcast journalism and formed the film production company CirrusFilm(TM) , LLC where he serves as President/CEO and General Counsel. His Legal professional experience combined with his Major in Film and Television gave JD, as a screenwriter, an incredible edge when writing "The Santa Fe Rage Academy". They say: "Write about what you know." It just happens that JD was a Special Prosecutor for the 1980 penitentiary riot homicides depicted in his script. He just finished writing a dark, a la "James Ellroy", 1950's murder mystery entitled "66". JD is also a private pilot since 1972 and served as a Major in the Civil Air Patrol, an Auxiliary to the United States Air Force. In the Civil Air Patrol, he conducted search and rescue missions.
