Mini bio

  • Born and raised in Morristown, NJ. Son of Eddie Ward, a well-known magician and Paula Moore, who had done some modeling. Steve was encouraged to act on stage at age 7. He also acted for local amateur filmmakers.

At age 19, Steve enlisted in the U.S. Navy. While not working on the flight decks of aircraft carriers, he worked with local community centers: Acting as a clown during special events or as a monster during Halloween events. In addition to acting, Steve did all his own makeup (after learning that wearing theatrical makeup was more practical and fun as opposed to wearing Halloween masks).

Having found a passion for singing, he also got involved in providing lead vocals for rock bands in the 1980s.

In the 1990s, after Steve was honorably discharged from the Navy, Steve pursued acting and got himself an agent in NYC. Unfortunately, he kept missing the agent's calls and was eventually dropped. Later, Steve networked on his own and was slated to play one of two male leads in a 'B' horror film... And like a few other projects that Steve was to be in, that one never saw the light of day: Most likely due to lack of funding.

After putting acting and singing aside for a while during the early millennium years, he decided to learn how to play guitar with the help of his close friend, Bobby McAdams, who had been Ace Frehley's guitar tech during rock band KISS's heyday. From there, Steve produced a few of his own music videos and became noticed by local filmmakers: Bruce Bertrand of Early Films and Nathan Waire (AKA Nathan Zen-Sapien) of Sapien Films among others.

Steve and his wife, Mindy, live in Wind Gap, Pennsylvania. He continues to create music independently as well as with other musicians while keeping his options open for other acting endeavors.

Trivia

  • For "The Yard", Steve was originally supposed to provide music for the film only. He asked to make a cameo appearance. When the part of Curry was turned down by someone else, he was offered the role, for which he was told that he would have to cut off his long hair. "It took nearly a year for my hair to grow back and would never do that again for a role!", Steve laughed.
