Dritan Huqi

Dritan Huqi is an Albanian film producer and the founder of On Film Production, an independent production company established in Tirana in 2008, with a strong focus on international co-productions. He studied Economics and Law in Albania. Since 2014, he has served as President of the Albanian Producers and Filmmakers Association and has been a member of the European Film Academy. Since 2026, he has also been a member of the European Producers Club. In 2011, he was selected by European Film Promotion for Producers on the Move at the Cannes Film Festival. Throughout his career, Dritan Huqi has produced and co-produced approximately 25 feature films and 4 fiction television series, working with production companies from Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Austria, Kosovo, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Denmark and other European countries. His filmography includes The Albanian by Johannes Naber, winner of the Special Jury Prize and Best Actor Award at the Moscow International Film Festival; Zana by Antoneta Kastrati, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival; My Lake and Distant Angels by Gjergj Xhuvani; The Rise and Fall of Comrade Zylo by Fatmir Koçi; Kanun by Jérémie Guez; Rohbau by Tuna Kaptan; Sirin by Senad Šahmanović; Luna Park by Florenc Papas; and The Sea Is the Heaven by Enkelejd Lluca. His recent co-production Shame and Money, directed by Visar Morina, premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize. His current projects include Blood Money by Enkelejd Lluca, Agia by Lorin Terezi, After Dark and The Dictator's Dream by Erenik Beqiri, and Lost Frames by Samir Karahoda. In addition to feature films and fiction series, Dritan Huqi and On Film Production have produced more than 50 documentary episodes and approximately 45 short films.
