Biography

Became the second Australian driver, after Sir Jack Brabham, to win the Formula One World Championship when he won the title in 1980.

Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for: Hesketh (1975 (4 GPs) and Embassy Hill (1975 (4 GPs)), Surtees (1976 (14 GPs)), Shadow (1977 (14 GPs)), Williams (1978 (16 GPs)-1979 (15 GPs)-1980 (14 GPs)-1981 (15 GPs)), Arrows (1983 (1 GP)) and Haas Lola (1985 (3 GPs)-1986 (16 GPs)). He started 116 Grands Prix, 12 Wins, 6 Pole Positions, 13 Fastest Laps, 24 Podiums and 206 Points.

Ex-Formula One driver who was the first racer to win a Formula One World Championship with the Williams team in 1980.

Teammates in Formula One were: Tony Brise, Renzo Zorzi, Riccardo Patrese, Jackie Oliver, Arturo Merzario, Jean-Pierre Jarier, Clay Regazzoni, Carlos Reutemann, Marc Surer, Patrick Tambay and Eddie Cheever.
