Tom Ackerley was born in June 1990 in Surrey, England, UK. He is a producer and assistant director, known for Promising Young Woman (2020), Barbie (2023) and I, Tonya (2017). He has been married to Margot Robbie since December 18, 2016. They have one child.

When his wife, Margot Robbie, appeared on Jim Carrey/Margot Robbie/Daniel Kaluuya/Jodie Turner-Smith/Lewis Capaldi (2020), she revealed that he was an extra in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) -- he played a Slytherin student who is pushed aside by Draco (played by Tom Felton) when the students first meet Buckbeak. Robbie, a big fan of the Harry Potter franchise, said "Had [he] told me sooner, we would have married *very* quickly.".

In 2013, he met Margot Robbie on the set while filming Suite Française (2014). They married in 2016 in Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. They lived in London, England, United Kingdom, before moving to Los Angeles, California.

Became a father for the first time on October 17 2024, a baby boy. Mother is his wife Margot Robbie.
