Mitch Jenkins - Director's Biography Mitch Jenkins is a British writer/director and photographer whose film work spans short films and features. Alongside his directing career, he has built a decades-long reputation as an internationally acclaimed photographer. He began directing with Act of Faith (2012), the first of five short films made with legendary writer Alan Moore, best known for Watchmen and V for Vendetta. Three of these, Act of Faith, Jimmy's End, and His Heavy Heart, were later released together as Show Pieces (2014) through their production company Orphans of the Storm with Lex Records. Upon release, the anthology was immediately acquired by the Shudder network, bringing Jenkins' distinctive style to a global audience. His first feature, The Show (2020), was produced by EMU Films with the support of the BFI and starred Tom Burke. The film is currently being developed as a television series. Jenkins' second feature, A Million Days (2023), is a science fiction thriller starring Hermione Corfield and Simon Merrells. The film was acquired for release by Signature Entertainment. His third feature, Ambleside, is a period drama set in 1920s Mauritius and scheduled for release in 2025/2026. Starring Ellie Bamber, Mehdi Dehbi, Rupert Penry-Jones, and Rhona Mitra, the film was shot entirely on location and stands as one of the most ambitious international productions to be shot in Mauritius. It also cleaned up at 41st Boston Film Festival this year (2025), winning: Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress (Ellie Bamber), Best Ensemble Cast and Best Music. Jenkins continues to expand his creative range with a diverse slate of upcoming projects. These include a contemporary thriller set in India and a World War II-era Lovecraft-inspired horror, both penned by Jenkins himself. He is also developing a Punk Rock road movie charting an anarchic journey from Glasgow to London of a neurodiverse teenager and his Punk Rocker sister, further proof of his commitment to bold, genre-spanning storytelling.
