Streaming Stars, Then and Now

Chad Zemel is a writer-director from Atlanta, now based in Los Angeles. His films champion youth development, exploring changes in identity, self-esteem and relationships - often set against vivid, fantastical backdrops.

Chad's recent short film, DL GUY - a superhero story delving into gender identity - premiered in 2024 at Oscar®-qualifying festivals including Santa Fe International and Out On Film, winning Best Comics-Oriented Film at San Diego Comic-Con. He is developing his feature directorial debut, a coming-of-age fantasy adventure.

Beyond his creative endeavors, Chad serves as Global Production Operations Executive at Amazon MGM Studios, where he leads the production travel program as well as health & safety initiatives. In his free time, he mentors the next generation of storytellers, working with queer youth at the Los Angeles LGBT Center and students from his alma mater, The University of Georgia.
