Biography

Victoria Peralto Cruz is inspired by the foster care community and her time at The University of Southern California Film School to make television and film with social impact. Whether it was working to change policy at the federal level in Washington D.C. or lobbing California's congress to expand rights for foster youth she continues to tell stories that move the needle forward. After graduating high school, Victoria aged out of the foster care system and lived on the streets in Venice Beach, CA. Eventually she was accepted to USC and graduated with a degree in production and a minor in screenwriting. At this point, Victoria moved from political activism to the screen. She hit the ground running and was a production assistant on multiple projects. She also directed several commercials, music videos, documentaries and, narrative films. Her documentary "Venice Neverland: Street Kids of Venice Beach" won the "Unstoppable Still I Rise" award 2019. She was also awarded best documentary film at The Other Venice Film Festival and Sunscreen Film Festival West. Her narrative film "Road Dogs" won the Platinum Remi Award for best dramatic original film at the Houston International Film Festival. Whether she is a production assistant on set or working above the line, Victoria's greatest joy in life is to support and uplift filmmakers and stories that shift culture. She is know to anticipate needs on set and take initiative. Even as a director you will find her helping wherever she can, as nothing is too small of a job to get the mission accomplished. Victoria is quoted saying, "Film and television are empathy machines and each project I am involved with is the mission."
