- Sam was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Salvatore and Michelle Collura. Salvatore's ethnic heritage is Sicilian and Michelle's is German and Irish although both were born in Milwaukee.
Sam's earliest acting experience came during childhood where he participated in various theatrical productions at school and at church. His first real acting experience came during high school when he was cast as Giles Corey in Arthur Miller's "The Crucible."
Sam fell away from the arts after high school when he began attending college to become a teacher in 2007. In 2009, however, he transferred to Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) where he studied Film and TV Production and Performing Arts.
