Mahendra Patil is an Indian writer, director, and creative producer known for his significant contribution to Marathi cinema. Active in the film in established himself as a versatile storyteller, working across multiple creative domains including story writing, screenplay, dialogue writing, direction, industry since 2007, Patil has creative production.

He made his debut as a film writer in Marathi cinema with Aamhi Chamakte Taare (2012). Since then, he has been associated with several Marathi films as a writer, including Chahato Mi Tula, Ek Hoti Rani, Aata Vel Zhali, Kadu God, Nivadung, Anya, Shyamchi Shala, and Ashtapadi. His work is recognized for its emotional depth, socially relevant themes, and engaging storytelling.

Some of Patil’s notable films, including Kadu God and Aata Vel Zali, have received international recognition and multiple awards, further strengthening his reputation as a creative force in regional cinema.

Beyond feature films, Patil has also written and directed short films such as Aarambh and Dhamak, demonstrating his command over imperatively short-form storytelling. As a director, he has additionally helmed four music albums, expanding his artistic footprint across different audiovisual formats.

In addition to filmmaking, Mahendra Patil has worked as a columnist for reputed Marathi newspapers such as Maharashtra Times and Saamana, contributing thought-provoking articles and commentary.

For more than a decade, he has served as the Festival Director of the prestigious Ambarnath Marathi Film Festival, playing an important role in promoting Marathi cinema and nurturing emerging talent.
