Biography

Jamie Ember is a Los Angeles based casting director. Her most recent projects include The Musical (starring Rob Lowe, Will Brill and Gillian Jacobs) which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, Netflix’s Guarding Stars (starring Jared Padalecki, Leighton Meester, and Andie MacDowell), Same Same But Different (starring Medalion Rahimi, Layla Mohammadi, and Dalia Rooni) and Sender (starring Britt Lower, Rhea Seehorn, Jamie Lee Curtis, and David Dastmalchian) - both of which premiered at the 2026 SXSW festival - and Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him (starring Maika Monroe and Tyriq Withers) for Universal - which she cast alongside Joseph Middleton.

Jamie was also the casting director for 2025's horror/thriller Bone Lake (starring Andra Nechita, Maddie Hasson, Marco Pigossi and Alex Roe), and the 2024 Sundance darling Thelma (starring June Squibb, Fred Hechinger, Parker Posey, and Clark Gregg) for which she was nominated for an Artios Award for Outstanding Achievement in Casting for a Studio or Independent Comedy Feature. Some of her other credits include The Recruit seasons one and two (starring Noah Centineo) for Netflix, The Instigators (starring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck) for Apple, 2024 SXSW selection National Anthem (starring Charlie Plummer and Eve Lindley), and Ginny & Georgia (starring Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howey). Jamie graduated with a degree in Film from Wesleyan University in 2016 and has worked on over 50 films, short films, and television shows.
