- Ángel Manuel Soto is a Puerto Rican filmmaker known for his diverse work in VR, indie cinema, and major studio features. He won the Best Opera Prima award at the Guadalajara Film Festival with La Granja (2015) and collaborated with RYOT Films on award-winning VR films like Dinner Party (2018).
His second feature, Charm City Kings, won the Special Jury Prize at Sundance in 2020. Soto also directed HBO Max’s Menudo: Forever Young (2022) and DC’s Blue Beetle (2023). Most recently, Ángel directed The Wrecking Crew (2026) starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista for Amazon/MGM. Future projects include Just Cause for Universal and a Transformers spin-off for Paramount.
As a producer, Soto has supported multiple projects, including Nuevo Rico and Mataron a Pedro for director and friend Kristian Mercado.
